A rare Akasaka tsuba with NBTHK hozon papers to shodai Tadatoki. The tsuba is of a blossom, window lattace and has the classic beveled inner rim that really adds to this wonderfull tsuba. The Nihon to Koza notes the shodai as " he was accomplished in all matters regarding the making of tsuba. The iron color is also excelent, the sukashi is exquisite, and there is an impression that he is "unrivalled by anyone" ... I can not add anything to that..a real treat to hold and enjoy !

A really good tsuba with very fine kebori and perfect motif, with the smaller histu-ana and the tagane marks. I would put this tsuba to 4th or 5th. This is really a very good tsuba for you collection and one of the better ones I have had from this generation(s).
