A mid to late Higo tsuba with great old traits of the early masters! the cut outs in the nakago-ana with very well cut kebori and very good dark iron color. This is a very good papered tsuba for your collection that does not cost 5k like the older tsuba from this school.

A very good Hirata tsuba with outstanding color and very fine kibori that fills the entire plate on both sides. The tsuba does have small mimi damage as can be seen in the scan at 10 o'clock area. It has very old patina so maybe from rubbing on armor ?? Great tsuba at a bargain price for his work !!
